It's still possible and if I have some more free time I can see if I can change it to work with Dave's API suggestion. In the mean time the suggestion from Twinkling82 also seems really promising! Thanks!

Here's a solution. Both for wordpress, but also for pure php code. Without the API!

Looks good Zach! They way I did it sure isn't the only way to do it and your example is a perfect alternative. There is one issue though, on each request you're retreiving the XML from xboxlivenation. Now if you have a small site this won't really matter but if you do get a lot of visitors it might be better to cache the XML on your own server. That way you'll save bandwidth for xboxlivenation :)

Hello again, thank you for this, as i stated in my earlier comment I have been searching for this for quite a while. I was frustrated with having to use CURL though and figured that many people would not have access to a php server so I looked it over and figured out a way to simplify it all into just your shockwave file, no JSON or php files necessary.

Instead of the JSON script replace it all with this modified on

_root.gamercardxblcustom = "http://www.xboxlivenation.com/api/xlnapigt.xml?gt=ENTERGAMERTAGHERE!!!";
var gamercardxblcustomXML:XML = new XML();
gamercardxblcustomXML.ignoreWhite = true;
gamercardxblcustomXML.load(gamercardxblcustom);
gamercardxblcustomXML.onLoad = function() {
	cardcreate();
};

function cardcreate() {
	gamertag_mc.gamertag_txt.text = gamercardxblcustomXML.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].childNodes[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue;
	var details = gamercardxblcustomXML.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].childNodes[2].childNodes[0].nodeValue + "\n" + gamercardxblcustomXML.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].childNodes[3].childNodes[0].nodeValue + "\n" + gamercardxblcustomXML.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].childNodes[7].childNodes[0].nodeValue;
	gamertag_mc.details_txt.text = details;

 var pic_mcl:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
 var pic_mclListener:Object = new Object();
 var tile:String = gamercardxblcustomXML.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].childNodes[5].childNodes[0].nodeValue;

 var tileArray = tile.split(" ");
 tile = tileArray.join("+");

 trace("loading: "+ tile);

 pic_mclListener.onLoadInit = function(target_mc:MovieClip):Void
 {
 trace("loaded");
 }

 pic_mcl.addListener(pic_mclListener);
 pic_mcl.loadClip(tile, gamertag_mc.picture_mc.image_mc);

 gamertag_mc.picture_mc.link = gamercardxblcustomXML.childNodes[0].childNodes[1].childNodes[6].childNodes[0].nodeValue;
 gamertag_mc.picture_mc.onPress = function():Void
 {
 getURL(this.link);
 }

};

This will make the .swf read the xml file directly making life easier for everyone =D. I have the example .fla and .swf uploaded here: http://www.linkofdarkness.com/site/public/downloads/JRxblcard/xblcustomcard.zip
